Surveys continue to show that only a minority of family firms have a board with independent members, even as many of these firms are having to rethink how they compete in the face of technological change, shifting market expectations and more complex ownership. Against this backdrop, the role of boards and governance in supporting entrepreneurial activity is attracting renewed attention. This session Prof. Neckebrouck will offer some reflections on how governance and entrepreneurship interact in family firms.
