Writing Review Articles That Matter: Advancing Research and Shaping the Field

Date:

November 12, 2026

Time:

16.00 – 17.00 (CET)

Speakers:

Corinne Post

Location:

Zoom

Dr. Post will discuss how review articles can change scholarly conversations and advance management research. Review articles have the potential to do far more than summarize what is already known about a research topic. They can deepen, clarify, question, redirect, or broaden our understanding of a phenomenon by identifying new opportunities for theory development. Rather than simply taking stock of a field, reviews can evaluate field-specific knowledge, identify important knowledge gaps, resolve tensions, contradictions, and paradoxes, and even challenge prevailing assumptions. In doing so, they can alter existing scholarly conversations or invite others to do so. In the webinar, Dr. Post will also explore how review articles can expand scholarly conversations beyond a field's traditional boundaries by introducing ideas, theories, methods, or phenomena from adjacent disciplines. Drawing on Advancing Research with Review Articles, as well as insights from Changing the Scholarly Conversation and Crafting Interdisciplinary Research: Four Cornerstone Practices for Management Scholars, Dr. Post will reflect on how authors can develop review articles that not only synthesize knowledge but also shape the future direction of a field
