The Doctoral and Faculty Development Consortia are designed as interactive and educational events for doctoral students and faculty members developing and nurturing a career of scholarship in the family business field.

Doctoral consortium
The doctoral consortium is open to doctoral students enrolled (or about to be enrolled) in a doctoral program. It provides an additional opportunity for students to share the latest state of their research, learn from and get socialized in the field via close interaction with their peers and experienced participating faculty. Besides learning from insightful presentations about relevant research and methodological issues, students can benefit from breakout sessions in small groups, where they receive feedback on a specific, very focused research problem under the guidance of a skilled facilitator who is an experienced scholar in the field.
To apply for the doctoral consortium, please include:
1. Letter of recommendation from your dissertation supervisor (if already determined) or a faculty member who knows you and your research interests. If you are planning on submitting a proposal for the best PhD proposal competition, the letter should also indicate that your dissertation supervisor has reviewed your proposal and endorses your submission for this award.
2. CV reflecting your current interest and capabilities in family business research (please include university affiliation)
3. Abstract of your research interests (150-200 words) – with the heading “Application for IFERA 2019 Doctoral Consortium”.
4. A picture of yourself for the list of participants

Faculty development consortium
The faculty development consortium is an excellent platform for new and experienced faculty to further develop their careers and skills, and provides a great opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues. It gives the opportunity to find new, and deepen existing bonds with, fellow family business scholars. Participating faculty will learn from and interact with their peers on key methodological aspects, related to both qualitative and quantitative methods.
To apply for the faculty development consortium (first come – first serve), please provide an abstract of your current research interests (150 - 200 words) and include a picture of yourself for the list of participants.

Doctoral and Faculty Development Consortia: Guidelines & Deadlines
Participation in the consortia is included in the conference fee, but since space in both groups is limited to 20 candidates, an application is required for both consortia.

April 6, 2019 – Notification of acceptance

Ph.D. Proposal Competition Guidelines & Deadlines
PhD Students are also strongly encouraged to submit their proposals for a chance to win one of the two awards of the "IFERA PhD Proposal Competition" each with a prize of €1,000 (click here for further details).
