COVID -19 TRAVEL UPDATES:

Coronavirus: information and recommendations

Krakow

The IFERA 2023 Conference will be organized in partnership with the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Conference Venue: Auditorium Maximum, Krupnicza 33, Krakow.

PLEASE VISIT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE CITY OF KRAKOW FOR MORE INSIGHTS.

The Jagiellonian University is the oldest higher education institution in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. It was founded on 12 May 1364 by the Polish king Casimir the Great. The Jubilee year 2014 marked the 650th anniversary of this remarkable event.

Kraków (or Cracow) is the second-largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the city dates back to the seventh century. It was the official capital of Poland until 1596, and has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, economic, cultural and artistic life.

Overflowing with legends, priceless historical architecture and art, as well as fabulous leisure and entertainment options, Poland’s historical capital, whose centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for over 40 years, captivates and enchants visitors at first sight.

Situated on the famous River Vistula, the city founded by the mythical Krak is surprisingly easy to navigate, whether you prefer to enlist the help of modern-day mobile phone apps or instead enjoy a more traditional system of maps and arrows pointing to the most important sites around the city centre.

The city can boast several hundred restaurants and over thousand other eateries from fast food joints to sushi bars. Good restaurants in Krakow are concentrated in the Old Town historic center, also nearby Kazimierz district. Most restaurant menus reflect international diet adapted to the country’s culinary tradition. Otherwise, despite deep inroads of foreign cuisines, Polish-style cooking prevails.

Wawel Royal Castle.                                                                                                               St Mary’s Basilica
