Research Development Program offers IFERA members the opportunity to engage in a developmental journey, promoting a portfolio of integrated and synergic initiatives that address specific and different needs of scholars interested in family business research. Through the Research Development Program, IFERA aims at providing its members with concrete opportunities to develop, enhance and enrich their research capabilities in the family business field, responding effectively to the diversity of needs expressed by members at different stages of career and professional development.

IFERA Research Development is articulated in three specific tracks:

Format

Doctoral Consortium (IFERA Conference Day 1)
Target: Anyone who wishes an introduction to family business research. Special focus on early stage PhD students.
Contents: Introductory topics, inspiring talks, networking and mentoring
Admissions: Check the submission guidelines for Doctoral Consortium
Fee: Included in the Annual Conference ticket but requires separate submission

IFERA Summer School (6 days, last day in conjunction with IFERA Conference Day 1)
Target: Anyone who would like to engage in a research retreat, to deepen their knowledge of theories and methods for family business research. Special focus on mid-advanced stage PhD students and early faculty.
Contents: Theories and methods, writing skills, networking and mentoring

Paper Development Workshop (IFERA Conference Day 1)
Target: Anyone who has a well-developed paper close to submission to a top journal
Contents: “How to publish” presentations, one-to-one discussions with Editors, Roundtable sessions
Admissions: Check the submission guidelines for IFERA PDW
Fee: Included in the Annual Conference ticket but requires separate submission
