With this platform, we aim to support early phd students (1st and 2nd year) who aspire to participate in the summer school and/or doctoral consortium.
To participate, you should have defined a research idea and question, revised the key theoretical background, identified the methodology and reflected upon potential contributions.

We offer a package that includes different learning modalities. Throughout the course you will be provided with (1) a set of preparatory material regarding the nuts and bolts of writing a research proposal, (2) an interactive online event to learn and discuss participants’ experiences of putting their research ideas on paper, and (3) a guided exercise about providing a review on a peer’s research proposal to enhance participants’ learning.
A summary of the course:
Module 1 – Asynchronous – Drafting
The first module is about approaching the writing of your research proposal in the best way you can.Â
After reviewing the material we provide in this classroom, you will be required to write a first draft of
your proposal before Module 2 starts. You will also be paired with your Review Buddy. You will be
asked to submit your draft in order for it to be shared it with your assigned buddy. You will be required
to read your buddy's work and discuss it in a short, peer-review session with each other during Module

Module 2 – Synchronous – Q&A and Buddy Review)
The second module is a live session featuring a moderated Q&A that will help you understand how to
develop your draft further. Make sure to get your questions ready! Here you will also get a chance to
discuss your work with your Review Buddy, so come prepared. This session will also give you an
introduction for the 3rd and last module where you will submit a refined version to receive a written
review.Â

Module 3 – Asynchronous – Written Feedback
The 3rd and last module is about finalizing your draft and receiving written feedback from us.Â
You will have to submit an improved version of your proposal by December 18. We will then provide
you with written feedback.Â
The review will be sent to you in advance of the final submission deadline (January 20) so you may
incorporate the feedback into your work.
